Sunday, Victoria, BC and Buchart Gardens
You will love this place. Today we will travel from Vancouver over to Victoria. The ferry will take us to the island where we will drive through downtown Victoria and to Buchart Gardens.
Buchart Gardens is fifty-five acres of wonderful floral display, offering spectacular views as you stroll along meandering paths and expansive lawns. In 1904, Jennie Butchart began to beautify a worked-out quarry site left behind from her husband's pioneering efforts in the manufacture of Portland cement at Tod Inlet, Vancouver Island, Canada. Her venture has become a family commitment to horticulture and hospitality spanning over 100 years, and delighting visitors from all over the world. From the exquisite Sunken Garden to the charming Rose Garden, this show garden still maintains the gracious traditions, in one of the loveliest corners in the world.

Use you name at the end so we know who said what...
We need to know what your plans are for that Sunday. Most are planning to go to Victoria, but some may not take in the gardens. you will not need a car in downtown Victoria so if you want to skip the gardens you could be dropped off in the harbor area. There is a really good museum and interesting gov't buildings. There is also a double decker bus tour of the area that leaves from to harbor area. Mary
I am not allowed to book free rooms using my bonus points until 30 days prior to the stay. I hope to get my family free rooms in Vancouver. In the meantime I have upgraded the reservations for David, Dan and Trish to "business suites" so you will have more space. I have reserved Kelso WA for 6/7/07 but they do not have larger rooms. I have reserved us rooms in Hood River for 6/8/07. These have to be cancelled by 4 PM June 3rd to avoid payment. Mary
Anyone know which nights are "FORMAL" nights?
Bob
My best guess on formal nights would be Tuesday (the first 'at sea' day) and Sunday(the last 'at sea' day) Mary
At this time we have 2 minivans going on the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria and one (Bob's) going from Port Angeles to Victoria. If necessary, we can have two or three people do 'walk on' for the ferry from Vancouver to join Bob's group in their van on the victoria side. Otherwise we will need to have David take his car across also. Mary
